Six Riders, One Epic Journey: Our Morocco Motorcycle Adventure

There are motorcycle trips… and then there are motorcycle adventures. Ours, seven friends (one in a support vehicle we nicknamed the Mule) riding in Morocco, was definitely the latter. A journey stitched together with sunshine, snow, sand, mud, laughter, and the kind of shared chaos that turns a group of riders into a tribe.

Rolling Out: The Road to Morocco

What started as six bikes lined up in the early morning chill soon became a symphony of engines carving across Morocco. Spirits were high, weather was kind, and the promise of Africa had all of us grinning like kids on Christmas morning.

When we got on our bikes in Marrakech, it felt like stepping into an entirely different world. Morocco greeted us with colour, noise, dust, and energy. Exactly what we came for.

On-Road, Off-Road, and the Occasional “Where Are We?”

The asphalt in Morocco can be smooth as a racetrack but turn the corner and you can be greeted by potholes large enough to swim in. Turn the next corner and you could be met with gravel and mud with no asphalt in sight. We tackled twisting mountain passes, long desert straights, and remote valleys where the only signs of life were goats watching us with mild judgment.

Then came the off‑road sections.

Some of us were born for it. Some of us… well, let’s just say the dirt had other plans. Bikes got stuck, egos fell over, and the laughter was loud enough to scare away any wildlife within a mile. At one point, we had six grown adults trying to drag one particularly stubborn machine out of a mud trench—team-building at its finest.

Sunshine, Snow, and Everything in Between

If you think Morocco is all scorching heat, think again.
One day we were cruising under blazing desert sun, the next we were winding into the Atlas Mountains where fresh snow dusted the peaks and the temperature dropped fast enough to freeze our visors.

Riding through snow with the desert still visible behind us might have been the moment we all realised just how wild and diverse this country is.

Food That Told Stories

Every stop brought something new to the table—literally.

Tagines that simmered for hours, rich couscous dishes, grilled meat cooked over open flames, and spices that hit all the right notes.
We discovered things we couldn’t pronounce and ate everything with the enthusiasm of people who’d spent hours in the saddle. Exotic? Absolutely. Delicious? Every single time.

Unfortunately, not everyone coped well with the food and the supply of Imodium came in very handy.

The Laughs That Make a Trip

What really made the journey unforgettable wasn’t the scenery or the riding (though both were incredible).
It was the seven of us—telling stories over dinner, planning the next route, or simply standing together in silent awe at the landscape around us.

There were belly laughs, minor mishaps, heroic saves, and a handful of moments we’ll deny ever happened. By the end, we’d formed a catalogue of shared memories that only make sense if you were there on two wheels, covered in mud, and loving every minute of it.

Homeward Bound

All adventures must end, but we journeyed back home with dust on our boots, smiles on our faces, and the kind of tired that feels earned. Seven left for Morocco. Seven came back a little wiser, a little muddier, and already talking about the next trip.

The Mule

A huge thank‑you to Dickie (the Mule), who hauled all our luggage from stop to stop and spent most of the day alone in the car blasting punk. I’d love to say he didn’t complain much about it. I really would.

A very special thank‑you to Mhedi at Ride 2 Atlas in Marrakech. He provided us with six beautifully clean, perfectly maintained, low‑mileage bikes that carried us through our entire journey without a single worry. From the moment we arrived, Mhedi was there for us, patient, reliable, and always just a call away whenever we needed anything.
His kindness and professionalism made our trip even more memorable, and we’ll absolutely choose Ride 2 Atlas again the next time we’re in Morocco.
Thank you, Mhedi — we’re truly grateful.
